CARY, N.C. - USA Baseball announced the 2013 15U National Team 20-man roster following the conclusion of a five-day trials period at the USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC) in Cary, N.C.

The team will continue to train at the NTC from July 19-25 in preparation for the 2013 COPABE 'AA' 15U Pan American Championships in Barranquilla, Colombia. During training, the 15U National Team will play an exhibition game July 22 against CBC at NC State University, and two exhibitions against the EvoShield Canes, with one at the NTC July 23, and the other at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park July 24.

The 15U National Team will be managed for the second consecutive year by former Chatsworth High School (Calif.) head coach Tom Meusborn. He will be assisted by Harvard-Westlake High School (Calif.) head coach Matt LaCour, Chan Brown (Parkview HS - Ga.) and George Sanchez (Corona Del Sol HS - Ariz.). Team administration will be overseen by 15U National Team director Brooks Webb.

"Trimming a roster of 40 down to the final 20 is never an easy thing," said Webb. "But we're really excited about the guys we have going to Colombia. Our national team staff, as well as the trials staff, have been tremendous in evaluating these players all week. 

"While there's plenty of talent on the final roster, most importantly we think it's a group that will be extremely proud to compete with USA across their chest, and ultimately put us in a position to compete for a gold medal."

Among the players selected to the 20-man roster, seven players were members of the 2012 14U National Team Development Program (Nick Allen, Brandon Martorano, Manny Perez, Ben Ramirez, Blake Sabol, Mason Thompson and Andrew Vaughn). The NTDP is designed to better prepare players for future USA Baseball National Team experiences.
