MLB Coach Ron Washington Works Progressive Shorthop Drills w/ SS Ozzie Albies

Whenever you perform infield drills, every now and then it helps if you slow them down to isolate a specific movement that needs to improve. Some easy fundamental checkpoints to effectively execute these progressive drills

  1. Start on your knees to take your feet out of the equation
  2. Keep head low to the ground
  3. Extend elbow and work through the ball with glove hand
  4. Secure ball in palm with 2 hands
  5. Secure ball in pocket with one
  6. Get on your feet
  7. Transfer weight through ball reception
  8. Follow steps 2-5 while on your feet
